During my internship at ANAC – Autoridade Nacional da Aviação Civil, I contributed to the technical evaluation and certification processes of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), supporting the development of regulatory frameworks aligned with European standards.
- Conducted a comprehensive market analysis of the European UAS landscape, identifying certification gaps and emerging regulatory challenges.
- Developed aerodynamic failure prediction models for 8+ commercial UAS platforms, calculating ballistic trajectories and ground impact zones following critical system failures.
- Designed and implemented an interactive HTML-based simulation tool with an intuitive interface, enabling certification engineers to assess safety parameters without requiring programming knowledge.
- Performed trajectory simulations incorporating drag, lift, and mass properties to model realistic post-failure flight behavior.
- Contributed technical analysis and documentation supporting ANAC’s UAS certification framework, ensuring alignment with EASA regulatory standards.
